Katherine Sangster

Katherine lives and works in East Lothian and is currently the National Manager for Scotland at a think tank. She is an expert at developing public policy and has experience in the public, corporate and charity sectors.

Katherine has spent her whole career campaigning for better policy outcomes for Scotland, most notably in the childcare sector. She has spent time volunteering with Children’s Hearings Scotland and is the Chair of the First Step Community Project. Both organisations work to support vulnerable children and young people at a community level.

My name is Katherine and I’m delighted to be coming on board to join the great team of Local Recovery Ambassadors. I have lived in Scotland my entire life and strongly believe in delivering the best policy outcomes for Scotland. I enjoy connecting with local people and have a long background in community organising, such as when I led a grassroot movement of mums who secured more funded childcare from the government.
